Sometimes you don’t need to go far to feel like you’ve escaped somewhere tropical. I recently spent the day at Lilly's beach house in Brunn am Gebirge, and for a few hours, it genuinely felt like a little summer getaway.

I settled into a comfy beach chair with a Margarita and enjoyed the sunshine, sand between my toes, and a few hours of doing absolutely nothing.

The beach house is located alongside a wakeboard lake, so there’s always something to watch. I spent some time soaking up the sun and watching the wakeboarders fly across the water. There’s also a small designated swimming area if you want to cool off.

When lunchtime came around, I found a table right by the water. There was a nice breeze coming off the lake, so I ordered a refreshing Hugo and one of the biggest smash burgers I’ve had in a while. It was really yummy.

Between the sunshine, sandy toes, cocktails, good food, and laid-back vibe, Lilly’s Beach House feels like a little holiday in Vienna.
